Bells atop one of the towers of S. Giovanni in Piazza, Sessa Aurunca

The current appearance of the church of S. Giovanni in Piazza belies its medieval origins, long covered over by a Baroque veneer. I’ve long admired the rusty bell frame for its simplicity, and for the way its forms harmonize with the curves of the church’s restrained façade.
